Multi House /
This project, in the Melbourne inner-city suburb of Albert Park, consists of a contemporary double-storey addition to a heritage cottage on an extremely tight site. The rear extension provides new living space at ground floor and incoporates a semi-independent studio on the first floor with its own laneway entry and roof terrace, enabling the house to be flexibly configured in multiple ways including as a single family house, a multi-generational house, as well as a separable Airbnb rental property. The design has been shaped and configured to comply with the requirements of the heritage overlay as well as the Rescode provisions for the protection of neighbouring amenity whilst also maximising northern orientation and city-views.
