AIREYS INLET HOUSE year: 2013 stage: concept design
This house engages with the opportunities presented by the sloping, wooded bush block which offers long views to the Aireys Inlet lighthouse and Fairhaven beach, as well as localised views to the surrounding landscape. The C-shape organisation of the house forms an open courtyard to the north, while maximising the key views to the south.
The activities of the house are layered across the two levels: the ground floor of the house functions as an active entertaining zone, incorporating guest bedrooms, whilst the upper level is conceived as a quieter zone for occupation by the family and relaxed contemplation of the view.
